Connecting with us at the Forma Conference
Connecting with us at the Forma Conference

Washington, DC

As enthusiasm builds for Forma‘s upcoming Tapestry Conference, we thought we should let you know about how you can connect with the Center for the Ministry of Teaching at the event.

The Forma Conference is right in our backyard this year (down the hill from Virginia Seminary in Old Town Alexandria, across the Potomac from Washington, DC), so there will be lots of opportunities to meet up:

  • Our director, Lisa Kimball, is co-keynote speaker. She and Tricia Lyons will be presenting on the theme “The Once and Future Church: Forming Faith as an Epic Adventure” on Wednesday at 7 p.m., Thursday at 9 a.m., and Friday at 9 a.m. If you’ve met Lisa, you know she’ll be excited to connect with you. But you may have to elbow past some other enthusiastic conference participants to make that happen.
  • I will be presenting about our Hybrid Faith Formation Network Initiative during Workshop Period 1 at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday. I’m pretty much all in for this event as well, so you’ll see me around a lot. I’m also standing for election to the Forma board.
  • Matthew Kozlowski, our new associate for faith and media, will be attending the conference for the first time. Please introduce yourself to Matthew and welcome him to the Forma world.
  • The CMT will have our own exhibitor’s booth this year. Come check us out to hear about what we’re up to, preview some new resources we’re keen on, ask us questions about faith formation in your context, and see copies of the brand new issue of Episcopal Teacher. The new ET includes the Day Smith Pritchartt article that went viral this week and got picked up by the Anglican Communion News Service!
  • Stay tuned for an update about a possible live Easter People event after hours.

If you’d like to connect and don’t want to leave it to chance, drop us a comment below or reach out by email or social media (Facebook and Twitter are best). We’re looking forward to seeing many of you there!

Kyle Matthew Oliver (@kmoliver) is the digital missioner and learning lab coordinator in the Center for the Ministry of Teaching and a panelist on the new Easter People podcast.
